Butterflies!

Mrs. Anna Mayo’s kindergarten class was honored to have several visits and help from retired Lee County Schools teacher and former Mississippi Teacher of the Year, Lindy Hopkins. Mrs. Hopkins spent time with the class during the spring to learn about and observe the life cycle of a butterfly.

Lindy Hopkins was Mrs. Mayo’s 5th grade teacher, and now Mrs. Hopkins’ granddaughter, Rhett Simms Gholston, is a student in Mrs. Mayo’s class. The class is always excited to receive a visit from Mrs. Hopkins, or Granny, which is what all the Sunshines lovingly call her. They can’t wait to see what their Granny comes up with next!
