The Shannon Middle School Student Council recognizes and promotes leadership in its members. 

To be considered for the SMS Student Council, a student must have a "C" or above average in all classes, no discipline referrals, complete the student council application, and obtain three teacher recommendations. 

Student Council members complete service projects for their school and community.
