Students in Ms. Carroll's ELA classes voted for the new baseball team that is coming to Mississippi.
Each student voted on his or her choice of the new team's name: Mississippi Mud Monsters, Mississippi Grits, or Mississippi Soul Shakers. Each student that voted had to explain why they made that choice. The students that voted EVEN got a "I Voted" sticker. When the actual winner is announced, students that chose the winning name will each receive a reward (possibly candy!)
From the Clarion Ledger: The new team from the Frontier League will begin play in Pearl beginning May 8, 2025. The team name will be chosen by a fan vote and announced soon.
