We are wrapping up our last week of clinical hours for Ed Prep. These students have put in many hours of observation, and several have had the opportunity to teach mini-lessons, assist with learning centers, guide educational games, and read with students.
We are extremely thankful for the mentor teachers across our district for providing them with these meaningful, real-world opportunities. We also want to thank the administrative staff at each school for helping with placement of our students and supporting our program. It truly takes a village!
Here are a few comments from some of our Ed Prep students' mentor teachers:
“I just want to say, ______ has gone above and beyond this year! She’s taught in my room a few times and practiced lessons with my students. I am very proud of her! I appreciate you assigning her to my room! My students love her and I’m sure they’ll remember her for forever. Thank you!! “
“_________ has been an EXCELLENT addition to our classroom this year! The kids LOVE her. She was always ready to be hands on with them and even helped run a small group table for me! She was very attentive to each child and was very engaged while observing me teach. I would love to have her in my class again sometime! We will miss her so much!”
“I think this is a great program, and I am always glad to help! We enjoy them coming in.”
“I sure am going to miss my Ed Prep students! What a fantastic real-world learning experience this has been for them and what a great help it has been to me and my students! _________ and __________ are top-notch students and have bright futures as educators ahead of them. I look forward to completing their evaluations. Thank you both for allowing them to do their clinicals with the middle school band. It has been such a positive experience for their career preparation and for my classes!
"I will gladly welcome any students that come through your program who are curious about being band directors!”
“I just wanted to let you know that ___________ has done an amazing job in my class this year! My students love her, and she loves them too! I would love to have her back next year if that works out!”
