Our mission is to provide quality hands on art experiences for every elementary student which encourages creativity, teaches the elements of art and principles of design, and exposes students to art appreciation and art history. We do this by providing quality instruction and resources. Every year we receive district funding as well as secure grant funding from various funding sources. This enables us to provide the best resources possible. An E.R. Carpenter grant allowed us to provide visual media technology to enrich art education at every elementary school. Art is naturally tied to all curriculum areas to assist in deepening student’s depth of knowledge. Student work is exhibited on a rotating basis each month at the Mall at Barnes Crossing, the Central Office and on Artsonia.com. All students receive art instruction during their activity rotation.
