Mooreville football coach

Jacob Massey enters his first season with the Mooreville Troopers football program for the 2025-2026 season after serving three years as the head coach of the Long Beach Bearcats.

Before arriving at Long Beach, Coach Massey coached at Petal as the offensive coordinator. Massey spent six years leading Amory’s offense, which resulted in an overall record of 45-28 and six consecutive playoff appearances.

Massey spent his first three years of his coaching career at DeSoto Central High School in Southaven, Mississippi, where he was a part of the first playoff team in school history. He also coached the first 1,000 yard rusher and passer in school history.

Coach Massey attended Union High School in Union, Mississippi, where he excelled in football and baseball. In 2012, Massey graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in History, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership in 2018.

Jacob Massey is married to the former Courtland Merideth from Amory. Together they have one son, Gray (4) and one daughter, Merideth (2).
