High school students learn everything from American history to the scientific method. But do they know how to change a tire on a vehicle?
A conversation several months ago between Shannon High School Career Coach Dee Coleman and Toyota Mississippi officials led to a special presentation at the school this morning. Mr. Coleman wanted an easy, effective way to share an important life skill with students - how to change a vehicle's tire. Toyota got to work on it and came up with a portable "tire changing station."
After seeing how to use the station, which will remain on campus, students were able to practice changing tires. The school plans for all of its students to take advantage of this opportunity. Shannon High was also presented a $2,500 check from Toyota that will be go to Mr. Coleman's career class and workforce development areas!
We thank Toyota for this very practical investment in our driving age students that will serve them now and throughout life!
