WTVA Meteorologist John Dolusic visited Verona Elementary on Friday, October 4. This was a culmination of third graders' study on how plants and animals adapt to changes in their environment. Mr. Dolusic explained the effects of severe weather events such as tornadoes and hurricanes on the environment and steps people can take to protect themselves.
During question and answer time, students asked how to become a meteorologist, how many tornadoes occur in Mississippi each year, and how is lightning formed.
We appreciate Mr. Dolusic for taking time to visit Verona's third graders to help them learn more about the science of weather forecasting and how severe weather affects us and our world.
