Congratulations to the winners of this year's Lee County School District Spelling Bee!
1st place: Victoria Long / 7th grade / Mooreville Middle School
2nd place: Bryan Warner / 6th grade / Mooreville Middle School
3rd place: Derrick Williams / 4th grade / Verona Elementary School
After five rounds in last week's competition, the winning word was "ramparts."
These top three students now move on to the countywide spelling bee, which takes place January 16 at Church Street Auditorium in Tupelo. They'll compete with Nettleton and Tupelo students.
