Saltillo High School senior Ethan Wetmore has been selected for an internship program this semester at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Mississippi (TMMMS) in Blue Springs.
At the beginning of the school year, Saltillo High Career Coach Connie Gusmus met with students to let them know about the Creating Your Future program at Toyota. Ethan applied and was one of only eight students selected from a field of 68 area applicants.
Ethan will spend five weeks at ICC Belden, completing the Manufacturing Skills Basic Certification. This includes basic math and metric, OSHA, precision measurement, and other skills. From there, he will have 10 weeks at Toyota to experience company orientation and time on the production floor that includes stamping, body welding, paint, and assembly.
As a student in Mr. Jaggers' advanced manufacturing class at the Lee County CTE, Ethan will undoubtedly have a leg up as he begins this internship. We wish him the best!
