Saltillo High students recently worked through The Real World financial lab, brought to them by Mrs. Cassandra Weston-Hainsworth from MSU Extension. Students in College and Career Readiness (CCR) classes were randomly assigned a career and salary. They were either single, married, or married with children.
Students then visited "stations" such as transportation, groceries, child care, and student loans. Using their assigned life situation, each student had to figure out the best way to balance their household income with monthly expenses.
What a great lesson in adulting!
