Our 7th and 8th grade Discovery students had an eye-opening experience today at the courthouse! We took a field trip to watch a felony court case, giving students a firsthand look at the legal system in action.
A huge thank you to Judge Mills, Sheriff Johnson, Jana Haggard, Sadie Gardner, Camille Delaney, and Megan French for taking the time to speak with us about courthouse procedures and the roles and responsibilities of the officers of the court. This experience brought classroom learning to life and sparked great discussions! ⚖️

6th grade Social Studies integrated ceramics into the classroom after learning about the Minoan civilization which was known for its architecture and art. Symbols were drawn by the students on a clay platter they felt represented them the best. The lesson was led by student-teacher Aleigha McDonald in Ms. Dees classroom. A big thank you to Ms. Aleigha and our Art teacher, Ms. Moya. More pictures to come later.
