The Shannon Middle School PTO will host the first meeting of the school year Wednesday, August 7. The meeting will take place at the Minority Farmers Alliance Building in Shannon, MS. Please make plans to come and join.

The first day of school at Shannon Middle was one for the books! New and veteran teachers engaged their new students with presentations and activities to get them ready for their new academic journey. We cannot wait to see what the 24-25 school year has in store for teachers and students alike!
🚨 Attention all drivers: School starts this Thursday. Remember to slow down in school zones and always stop for school buses! It is illegal to pass a school bus while the stop-arm is extended and the red lights are flashing.
Our central office staff welcomed new educators this week, as they get ready for their "first day of school" as a teacher. School starts next Thursday!
Reminder to parents/guardians of all students entering 7th grade: A Certificate of Immunization Compliance (Form 121) is required for all Mississippi school children in grades K-12. For ALL students entering 7th grade, the form must show a recent Tdap vaccination.
Shannon Middle School will have registration for our students from 9:00am-2:00pm on the following dates: Wednesday, July 24 - 6th grade; Thursday, July 25 - 7th grade; Friday, July 26 - 8th grade.
Shannon Middle School’s Open House is July 29 from 3:00pm-6:00pm.

During the spring semester, members of the Shannon Middle School PTO encouraged students by passing out inspirational bracelets to the student body when they arrived at school. PTO members also provided breakfast and snacks for our teachers in observance of Teacher Appreciation Week. Thanks to our PTO members for their continuous support!

Principals, assistant principals, and other district leaders are in planning sessions this week for the 2024-25 school year. Presentations and discussions are taking place on a wide range of issues that help us #EducateServeInspire.

Construction crews are busy this summer at Shannon High's football field. As part of a previous districtwide bond issue, complete field renovations are underway.
We can't wait for players and fans to return to the football field at Shannon High this fall to see the improvements!
Two HVAC students from the Lee County CTE are getting some hands-on experience working this summer with the LCSD Maintenance and Facilities Department.
